
Today our 8th grade learned about WV snakes. Some of us were brave enough to hold one!


Today students from Mrs. Rowan's class presented the results from their Science Projects.


Mr. Sears WV Studies class began their study of WV cryptids by creating their own unique creatures! They then participated in a game to determine the king of monsters! Winners were converted into 3D print models.


The staff and students both love Ms. Stenson's Stallion Brew.
Staff can place an order and Ms. Stenson's class prepares and delivers the order.

Book Tasting
Students in Mrs. Brown's class read a book for a short amount of time and rated it. They sampled a variety of books and shared what they liked about each of them. This allowed them to preview books to see if any peaked their interest.

Thank you to the University High School FFA chapter for sharing with our 6th graders about FFA and the possibility of starting our own garden here at South Middle.


Today we heard from Nikki Bowman Mills, the founded New South Media, Inc. She is part of the WV K-12 Speakers Bureau. The Speakers Bureau goal is to excite students about the career opportunities right here in West Virginia by providing educators with a user-friendly platform to find and schedule speakers from various professions.


South would like to thank our parents, students, and teachers for donating their loose change on our "Penny Days" during the 2023/24 school year. Last year your donations helped us purchase picnic tables and benches. Our next Penny Day will be on October 23rd.

Students from Ms. Coe's class are learning how to diagram sentences. Ms. Glock's students are writing personal narratives in ELA class.


Today we had an awesome pep rally in the gym. We celebrated with our band, cheerleaders, and fall sports teams.. Our teachers even had a dance off. Congratulations Mr. Overstreet!


8th Grade is reviewing our School Expectations in a PBIS Assembly.
